It’s true that a broken old man needs the companionship of a loyal best friend. This old man was fortunate to have that need fulfilled by a 13-inch Beagle he named Bailey. Unlike the idiot owl Fenway, who acted as the old man’s moral compass, Bailey loved the broken old man for who he was…and wasn’t.

As Bailey began to age, he immersed himself into his own hang-ups. Bailey’s love of food and severe separation anxiety cost the broken old man many sleepless nights;  the broken old man understood though; since he too…was a loyal best friend.
