Proverbs: A 100 Word Fiction

He was just a  broken old man, but he was one to never beat around the bush or get caught between two stools. He never cut corners or bit off more than he could chew. The old man never put all his eggs in one basket; he didn’t count all his chickens before the eggs in his basket hatched.

Often the old man would hear things on the grapevine, but as a fair man, he never gave anyone the benefit of the doubt.

He once tried to be a writer, but the people told him, “Don’t quit your day job!”
