Promise: A 100 Word Fiction Prompt

The broken old man spent much of his time reconciling the changes in his life. Most distressing were the obvious physical changes; but while never thought of as someone of great intellect, he still had most of the wits bestowed upon him by his creator.

The broken old man was a self-made man; born without a silver spoon; only marginally educated; void of any real success in his life. He was who he was and that’s the only promise he could ever keep. This broken old man was smart enough to know what his station in life would be forever.
